It is a culture that dates back several centuries among the Latinos, where the boys and the girls would celebrate their rites of passage. According to the Latino legends and stories passed along for generations, the girls at the age would be trained on how to be women in marriage life (Hallmark.com). As such, they would be taught on all the necessary skills required to take care of the husbands, children, homes and their role in the community.
